The platform enables users to oversee and track manifests seamlessly within Ontario’s hazardous waste program, with integration capabilities that connect directly to the Hazardous Waste Program Registry. All necessary activities—such as obtaining signatures, managing refusals, and making corrections—are accessible through the application, streamlining the overall process.

Key functionalities of the RPRA HazTrack app include:

1. Creation of manifests
   • Guided, step-by-step process supports generators, carriers, and receivers in creating accurate manifests.
   • Allows incorporation of registered generator, waste stream, carrier, and receiver information directly from the Registry.
   • Includes a ‘Copy Manifest’ feature to duplicate existing manifest details efficiently.
   • Supports addition of multiple carriers via image upload of the Multiple Carrier Form.
2. Signing of manifests
   • Facilitates signing of manifests at various stages—prior to shipment, upon completion, or for corrections approval.
   • Generators can sign manifests on carriers’ mobile devices without requiring login authentication, enhancing efficiency.
   • Permits both generators and carriers to sign off on modifications made by receivers regarding waste information.
3. Manifest tracking
   • User-friendly status indicators enable clear monitoring of shipment progress throughout the manifesting lifecycle.
   • All actions are logged with timestamps on the manifest overview page for audit purposes.
4. Waste acceptance and refusal
   • Receivers are empowered to accept, refuse (partially or fully), or modify waste streams before finalizing the manifest.
5. Registry integration
   • Data entered in the app is automatically synchronized with the Hazardous Waste Registry.
   • Registry data is readily accessible within the app for streamlined operations.
   • Manifests initiated in either platform (app or Registry) can be completed interchangeably.
   • The app offers offline functionality, with subsequent data uploads once connectivity is restored.
